We at the IPS are committed to ensuring the utmost effort is made to minimise the risk of the spread of the coronavirus, whilst being fully committed to your physical health and wellbeing.
Using Government and NHS guidelines, we have implemented several infection control procedures.
Our patients have been clinically risk assessed and have been deemed to be in a high risk, medium risk or low risk category based upon the patient's medical history and comorbidities.
There will be differing levels of infection prevention and control measures put into place dependent upon the needs of those within each category.
High risk patients will be offered treatment in their home environment. The physiotherapist will wear protective equipment throughout the treatment session. This equipment will be disposed of in a clinical waste bag and taken away by the physiotherapist.
Medium risk patients will be offered treatment in their own home. Gloves will be worn throughout the duration of the visit. The gloves will be disposed of in a clinical waste bag and taken away by the physiotherapist.
Low risk patients will be able to attend clinic as normal. Routine infection control measures will continue to be abided by.
ALL IPS staff will be strictly adhering to hand hygiene, washing hands before and after each treatment session.
Clinical uniform will only be worn in work.
Staff are committed to taking personal responsibility of following the government advice on activities outside of work.
All clinics are thoroughly cleaned daily with work surfaces and therapeutic equipment being wiped down before and after each patient.
It is advised that patients travel directly to their appointment and leave the clinic immediately following their appointment if able to do so. We will limit waiting in the waiting room prior to your appointment.
You will be asked to wash your hands immediately following your arrival and prior to leaving our clinic to minimise risk of infection.
There will be screening and restriction of staff/patients/family/carers who display signs and symptoms of infection such as a cough, fever or cold and flu like symptoms.
Our hydrotherapy service has been suspended until further notice.
IPS Physiotherapy are dedicated to keeping you safe during the context of this time. We are equally dedicated to your ongoing physical health. IPS are responding to information and guidance as it comes in, and this guidance will be implemented and information on this will be shared on our website.
