AC Joint Pain

What is AC Joint Pain?

Pain in this region of the shoulder (where the collarbone meets the shoulder blade, on top of your shoulder) is common following an injury / trauma, such as a rugby tackle or fall off a mountain bike.

Pain can also come on gradually due to wear and tear or arthritis. Pain from an injury can linger for a long time and cause ongoing limitation in function. The pain from wear and tear / arthritis can also be very debilitating. If the pain does not settle with rest, anti-inflammatory medication and standard physiotherapy techniques, a cortisone injection is the most appropriate option.

A cortisone injection is likely to provide immediate and significant relief AC joint pain.
