Wrist Pain

What Causes Wrist Pain?

There are a number of potential causes of wrist pain, including arthritis, trauma, repetitive strain / over-use. There are many structures within a small space which can be injured or aggravated resulting in pain and disability. These include small bone fracture (scaphoid and hook of hamate), ligament strains, tendon ruptures, tendonitis and cartilage tear.

Our physiotherapists will perform a comprehensive assessment of your condition and advise you regardingprognosis, appropriate treatment and/or further investigations (e.g.x-ray / MRI). Even simple ligament strains in the wrist can take anumber of months to settle without the appropriate treatment.Certain conditions, such as De Quervain's can be releived immediately with a cortisone injection, which we are able to perform at our clinic.
