Tom graduated from Cardiff University with a first class honours degree in Physiotherapy Since then, he has worked for Aneurin Bevan University Health Board across a variety of roles including musculoskeletal, respiratory, orthopaedics and neurological. He decided to specialise in Neurological Physiotherapy and since then has worked in a range of specialist settings including hyper acute stroke and stroke rehabilitation, early supported discharge team and neurological outpatients.
He has a special interest in stroke rehabilitation and also patients who have been diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). There is increasing evidence to support the role that physiotherapy can play in the treatment of people with FND. Despite FND being a very common diagnosis, it is one that is often misunderstood. He has experience of treating patients with FND and is passionate about how physiotherapists can address symptoms such as limb weakness. He thoroughly enjoys helping patients achieve their personal goals, whether that being able to walk unaided again or return to sport.
Outside of work, Tom is a keen guitarist and triathlete.
